Copperbelt singer Mikha’El has revealed that he was once dragged to court over his own hit song “Wandowa” by fellow artist Wiz Bebe.
Speaking during an interview on PMC’s Yatu Vibez, Mikha’El explained that the dispute revolved around the ownership and usage rights of the song after he allegedly sold the record to the Ndola-based rapper.
According to the singer, the legal issue began when he received a court summons over “Wandowa” — a song he says he personally wrote, recorded, and originally released under his own catalog before later selling it to Wiz Bebe.
The rapper reportedly asked the court to stop Mikha’El from using the song or taking credit for it. However, the judge dismissed the matter and advised both parties to settle the dispute amicably outside court.
“Wandowa” was initially released on November 29, 2025, under Mikha’El’s name before being re-released by Wiz Bebe without crediting the singer as a featured artist.
Mikha’El admitted that the court case came as a major shock, especially because the song had become one of the records that helped raise his profile on the Copperbelt music scene.
The artist described the experience as both frustrating and humbling, saying it felt surreal to face legal action over a song connected to his own artistry and creativity.
Now speaking publicly for the first time about the matter, Mikha’El says the situation has taught him the importance of proper agreements and clear communication in the music business, while also encouraging fellow artists to prioritize contracts and mutual respect when collaborating.
