Zambia’s biggest music night turned into pure history as the 2025 Kwacha Music Awards lit up the Mulungushi International Conference Centre on 29th November 2025, delivering drama, surprises and straight-up dominance from the industry’s biggest names.
It was a night where one name echoed louder than the rest — Chile One — who completely owned the ceremony with a massive five-award sweep. From Album of the Year to Song of the Year and Best Male Artist, Chile One didn’t just win… he stamped his authority on Zambian music, cementing his place as one of the most influential voices of this generation.
The night also carried deep emotion as Zambian music legend Danny Kaya was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, a moment that reminded everyone of the foundation and legacy that built today’s industry.
But the competition was fierce across the board. Y Celeb took Best Copperbelt Artist, while Jae Cash dominated Lusaka, proving his consistency in a highly competitive category. In the gospel and humanitarian space, Mampi received recognition for her impact beyond music, while Xaven was crowned Best Female Artist, marking another major milestone in her rise.
Other standout moments included Roberto winning Best Mainstream Pop Song for his evergreen hit “Bestie”, and the ever-consistent presence of industry heavyweights like Yo Maps and Macky 2 shaping multiple categories through nominations, collaborations and influence.
The awards didn’t just celebrate winners — they showcased the depth of Zambian music. From gospel powerhouses to hip-hop heavyweights, from dancehall energy to Afro-fusion creativity, the 2025 edition proved that the industry is stronger, louder and more competitive than ever.
Chile One’s victory with “Eagle One” for Album of the Year and “Remember Me” for Song of the Year became the defining story of the night, as fans and artists alike acknowledged a new era of dominance.
